MAYOR ALVIN BROWN WELCOMES LACROSSE TO JACKSONVILLE
The Commissioner of the North American Lacrosse League (NALL), Phil Evans, thanked Mayor Alvin Brown, the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission (JEDC), and team co-owners Brett Vickers and Chris Milo, for making it possible to bring professional Lacrosse to Jacksonville, Florida.
Over 40 people attended a 2:00 p.m. press conference for the announcement of the formation of a professional Lacrosse team in Jacksonville, Florida. Team co-owners, Brett Vickers and Chris Milo, were introduced by Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena's Marketing Director, Barry Milligan. Milligan also introduced the Mayor of Jacksonville, Florida, Alvin Brown.
Mayor Brown stated, "We are proud to announce an agreement between JEDC and this ownership group to bring Lacrosse to our city." He went on to say that his vision is to bring an NBA team to Jacksonville, but added that it may take time.
Lacrosse games will begin in mid-January, 2012.
