Jaguars Blaine Gabbert Takes Over

Host Richard Miller
In what may be the look of things to come, the Jaguars inserted its 10th Draft Pick Blaine Gabbert into the Jaguars vs. Jets game.  For three quarters, Luke McCown was crushed, pounded, knocked down and hurried.  He was intercepted four times and sacked with a safety.  McCown ended the day with an overall quarterback rating of 1.75.

Gabbert's first pass was good for 10 yards.  His second snap resulted in his running to his left out of bounds. And, on his third snap, Gabbert passed the ball, which was touched and luckily ended up in a Jaguars receiver's hands.  Gabbert accepted his NFL initiation proudly, as he was hit hard from his blind side by a unchecked Jets player.

The final score was 32-3, with the Jets winning.  The Jets are now 2-0, and the Jaguars are 1-1.  Looks like the Jaguars will have a long flight home and still much more work to be done this week as they prepare for the North Carolina Panthers next Sunday in Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
