In an effort to reach the largest audience, the Jacksonville Giants have rented several digital billboards around Jacksonville, Florida. "We can change our message in hours - not weeks or months," said Giants owner Ron Sholes. "Every 8 seconds we can display a new billboard. What exciting technology!"
The electronics behind these boards was introduced to the city by Clear Channel in the last few months. Now, with nearly ten boards around Jacksonville and with the new law passed allowing businesses to change billboard messages every 8 seconds, the medium is catching on quickly. "And, it is reasonably priced," added Sholes.
The first Giants player to be featured on these billboards is Christian Laettner. "We chose Christian because of his famous Duke buzzer beater in 1992. It is considered the most famous shot in NCAA history. Who would have guessed that Christian Laettner would be playing for the Giants on the 20th Anniversary of that shot and assist in another buzzer beater. The entire team and staff consider it amazing." Go to the bottom of this page to watch the buzzer beater video.
Sholes, owner of the YOU HURT WE FIGHT law firm, known as the Law Offices of Ron Sholes, is a military veteran. "Our stationary vinyl You Hurt We Fight billboards are all over town. I am considering this new digital medium for the firm, too."
