Jaguars Owners Yacht Name Is KISMET

Yesterday, thousands of people were down at the Jacksonville Landing for the “Run 5 to Keep Kids Alive” charity race to raise funds for Wolfson Children’s Hospital.

MilleronSports.com captured the excitement and fun in images displayed on Facebook as well as in a separate article on the website and First Coast News.  Hundreds of onlookers walked the Northbank Rivewalk toward the Hyatt Regency Hotel to catch a glimpse of Jaguars team owner Shahid Khan’s yacht.  They may have been shopping since the yacht is for sale.  For a cool $112 million, this stunningly-sleek beauty can be yours.  And, you only have to put $23 million down to secure the purchase.  Sounds like a deal that is difficult to refuse.

To ensure a quick sale, Khan’s crew members were busily waxing the nearly 500 feet of chrome that surrounds the yacht.  The KISMET was built in 2007 in Germany and displays a Cayman Island flag.  “Kismet” is a noun, with two meanings (1) Islam:  the will of Allah, and (2) fate or destiny, an event or course of events that will inevitably happen in the future.  Not only is the name interesting, but also the timing of the yacht’s docking.  Since the annual boat show is open in Jacksonville, one can only suppose that Khan thinks a prospective buyer may stop by to see his yacht.

So, how big is the gas tank of a yacht that size? It will hold 55,000 gallons of fuel.  At the current cost, that would amount to a fill-up of $238,000.  So, if you buy it, can you afford to take it anywhere?
