UNF Head Basketball Coach Mathew Driscoll With Miller on Sports

LISTEN TO THIS INTERVIEW WITH UNF HEAD COACH MATHEW DRISCOLL.  THE LINK IS IN THE CENTER OF THE STORY.

Richard Miller, Host of Miller on Sports (a local sports talk radio show) in Jacksonville, Florida, interviews Matthew Driscoll, the Head Basketball Coach of the University of North Florida (UNF).  Watch and listen as Miller and Driscoll discuss Driscoll's background and UNF men's basketball.

In 2009, Driscoll, former Assistant Head Coach at Baylor (Baylor Bears), took over as the fourth UNF Head Basketball Coach since the founding of the UNF.  The men's basketball program played its first game in the 1992-1993 season.

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Driscoll helped lead the Baylor Bears to its first NCAA Championship since 1988.  In 2007, Fox Sports conducted a nationwide survey of coaches and reported that Driscoll had been voted one of the top ten assistant coaches in the nation.

In his first year, he led UNF to a 13-18 record, 8-12 in the conference (7th overall).  His second year, the team had a 15-19 record, finishing 10-10 in the conference (6th overall).

In March 2011, UNF competed against the Belmont Bruins in the Atlantic Sun Conference.  This game was televised nationally and established the record of "the first UNF basketball game televised nationally."
